Paw Balm and Keep Calm

Paw Balm 1 pack

Why a paw balm?

Gemma and Ollie, my two pampered fur babies were the inspiration behind it all. I noticed that Gemma’s paws were getting quite rough from going on adventures. And of course she is too much of a princess to have unsightly rough paws!  I needed a product to moisturise, soothe and protect her paw pads. Both Gemma and Ollie have a tendency for allergies and it was important to me that any product I use is natural.

The Gemma & Ollie lavender paw balm was eventually created after some research and experimentation . I noticed improvements in Gemma’s paws almost immediately.

Why lavender?

Lavender is considered to have a variety of benefits for dogs. Some of the benefits include providing relief when applied to dry, itchy skin and helping calm dogs that are fearful, agitated, hyperactive or anxious. Ollie suffers from anxiety and the lavender has a calming effect on him. I’m not saying it is a cure-all for anxiety but I have found it helps. Especially if used with other behaviour coping methods.

Ollie enjoys his spa sessions as much as Gemma.

Is it safe?

Ollie’s anxiety causes him to lick his paws alot so he has licked the balm. The balm is intended for external use but is safe if licked as the ingredients are all natural. I only use 100% pure essential oils which is diluted with a carrier oil and the amount in each balm is minimal.

Of course, using something new always presents the possibility that our fur babies might be allergic to it. So it is important to keep an eye out for any unusual reactions.

“The lavender oil works amazing at calming me down, normally I cry a lot in the car (I think from excitement) but yesterday after mum rubbed the balm on me I didn’t cry at all on our car trip!”

We have had lots of positive feedback from fur babies who have tried our paw balm. To check out our Health & Wellness range click here.
